He holds a bachelor's degree (UNLP, Argentina), a master's degree (LLM) and a doctorate (JSD) in law (NYU). He is a full time researcher, on contract, at the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas (IIJ) of UNAM and a member of the National System of Researchers (Level I). Before joining the IIJ, he served as a professor at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (2013-2020).

He has taught courses on constitutional theory and law, legal theory, economic analysis of law and legal philosophy in different institutions of higher education in Latin America. He is a member of the Seminar on Constitutional Theory in Latin America (SELA) sponsored by Yale University. His areas of interest are constitutional law and theory, judicial policy, empirical studies of justice, comparative analysis of institutions, economic analysis of law, criminal guarantees, federalism, and theories of rights, on which he has published.
