A Glimpse at Dworkin: The Intertwining of Law and Morality
This article analyzes Ronald Dworkin’s main contributions to jurisprudence and political philosophy, and shows that they result from a broad vision that integrates law and morality. The exposition is divided in two parts. The first deals with Dworkin’s objections to legal positivism and his idea of law. The second focuses on the ethical foundations of liberalism and Dworkin’s distributive criterion.
