Resumo

Democracia e constitucionalismo: distensão deliberativa. Uma introdução

A introdução a esta seção monográfica de Isonomía intitulada “Democracia e constitucionalismo: distensão deliberativa” tem os seguintes objetivos. Primeiro, reconstrói os dois componentes da democracia constitucional – ou seja, a democracia e o constitucionalismo – junto com a tensão que frequentemente surge entre ambos (I). Em seguida, argumenta que a deliberação oferece uma distensão entre a democracia e o constitucionalismo tanto no plano dos princípios (II) quanto no plano das instituições (III). Finalmente, apresenta a contribuição para o constitucionalismo democrático deliberativo de cada um dos artigos publicados nesta seção monográfica editada por Ignacio Giuffré (IV).
