Twenty years after the rights of the Child Convention, four papers tackle the main debates surrounding the theme of rights during childhood and adolescence from different angles. This introduction invites comprehension of the papers in terms of four central problems within the subject of children's (both female and men) and adolescents' rights: a) lack of a theory that would allow recognition of children as entitled to rights, b) the debate concerning interpretation of the contents of rights, c) effectiveness of the rights acknowledge by the Rights of the Child Convention, d) difficulty of integrating instruments of international law and national law.
